She's home and start recovering!

Monday afternoon around 2:30, we pick up Princess Pouches at the Vet. She is very happy to see us! She's wagging her tall all over giving us kisses. She stay at the Vet for 3 nights until weekend and the Doctor said she is ready to go home and she will be ready to be pick up anytime that Monday. When we got home she was so happy to see the other dogs, but we didn't let them play together yet because of her surgery. We keep her inside her crate while the other 2 dogs are outside in their kennel. Her surgery went well and it seems like her cut is healing. My husband give her pills/medicine with her food 2x aday. So hopefully she'll recover fast that way she can play with the other dogs.

Symptoms of Intestinal Blockage for dogs

Two days ago, we found a symptom of intestinal blockage of one of our dogs. She's 20 months old English Mastiff, weight 163 lbs. Vomiting and lack of appetite is one of the symptoms. She throw up all her dinner, I think she throws up 4-5 times that night. After that she doesn't want to eat or drink anything. We notice behavioral changes on her, she looks very sad and weak. She doesn't want to play with the other dogs, she is just laying around and sleep and I notice this morning she was shivering so that worries me a lot. First thing we thought is that she did eat something that is big and its hard to digest. We usually feed them raw chicken legs and hotdogs, but I chop the chicken and hotdog into halves that night so I don't think that's the cause. But she throw up that night and starting not feeling well so yes, taking to the Vet is a good idea to find out right away what's going on. The surgery went well and we found out that the reason why she got a blockage, she swallowed the whole Collar. They took the collar out in her intestines! What a relief! Hope she gets well soon that way she can come home with us!

Cause of her Intestinal Blockage...

This is Princess Pouches X-ray result.

I just got a text from my husband and he said that Princess surgery went well. They found a collar in her intestine, that's the cause of her blockage. We been looking for Sugar Collar (Anatolian Shepherd) for a while now on their dog's kennel and we couldn't find it. So now, we figure out why we can't find it somewhere it's because Princess Pouches eat it. No wonder she get so sick! Not good for us because surgery cost a lot! We really need to keep an eye on her or else she will going to swallow something big again. Well, I'm glad the surgery went well, so will just wait until the Doctor says, if she's ready to come home.

Taking Princess Pouches to the Vet

Two days ago, Princess doesn't feel well, she's been throwing up all night. She throws up 4-5 times and she is very sick. She didn't eat and drink for 2 days also. She was shivering this morning. So we decided to take her in to the Vet. They took an X-ray on her, they found out that she had an intestinal blockage. It means she got something in her belly that cause the blockage. So that means she needs to get a surgery. Surgery won't be cheap but you know, what can we do? she's part of our family and she needs help. We are just waiting for the results of her surgery and she needs to stay for the weekend to make sure that the surgery went well and that she won't have any infections from the surgery and on Monday, she'll be able to come home with us.
